Maria Lopez in New Hamphsire!

Child molester to be released in November
http://www.theunionleader.com/articles_show.html?article=7703

"Despite his failure to participate in the sexual offender's program, Graf's
behavior at the prison has been exemplary, Nadeau noted in her ruling. He
hasn't received any major disciplinary reports and has been a full-time student
during his incarceration, she said. "

A full time student on our dollar probably! Not only that but what else has he
got to do in Prison?

No children in there to molest!

"He also received letters of praise from two prison employees."

Do these employees have any children? If they do maybe they should use this
upstanding citizen as their baby sitter!

NH IS BEING INVADED BY THE LIBERALS! This is a case of Judge Maria Lopez north!
(Lopez is a Massachusettts judge that goes easy on sex offenders)

They want to let this sicko out after serving his minimum sentence! What
sentence has his victim served?

The victims are sentenced to a life of remembering this violation against them!

Sick is a good description of this JUDGE!

Bill would create 'guilty but insane' law

By HOLLY RAMER

Associated Press Writer

CONCORD, N.H. (AP) - A teen-ager charged with killing two Dartmouth College
professors would be one of the last defendants to plead innocent by reason of
insanity in New Hampshire if an Exeter man gets his way.

Lawyers for Robert Tulloch said last month the Vermont teen-ager will use an
insanity defense when he goes to trial this spring.

By then, the Legislature will be considering a bill that would replace a state
law that allows "not guilty by reason of insanity" pleas with one allowing
defendants to plead "guilty but insane."

Rep. Marshall Quandt, R-Exeter, sponsored the bill at the request of a
constituent, Ken Goodall, who said he believes the current plea is "a complete
lie."

"That plea is an admission of guilt, in my opinion," Goodall said in a recent
interview. "Whether you understood what you did or not, you are guilty."

Goodall's inspiration for the bill was the case of Michael McDermott, who is
charged with killing seven co-workers in Wakefield, Mass., last December.
McDermott's lawyers have said they will use an insanity defense.

"What we've lost in our society is personal responsibility," said Goodall, a
security technician from Exeter. "People are always looking to blame other
things."

The bill also would require someone who enters such a plea and is found insane
to spend time in prison.

Under current law, someone found innocent by reason of insanity can be
sentenced to the state's secure psychiatric unit if judged to be dangerous, but
eventually can be released. But Goodall wants those people to be transferred to
prison for 25 percent of whatever their minimum sentence would have been had
they gone directly to prison.

"When a doctor decides this person is better and they can comprehend what they
did wrong, that doesn't mean they should go free," Goodall said. "There should
be a price to pay."

Tulloch and a friend are accused of stabbing to death professors Half and
Susanne Zantop in their Hanover home last January. According to court
documents, the pair purchased knives over the Internet weeks before the
killings.

Goodall said evidence that McDermott also planned the Massachusetts shooting
motivated him to try to change the law.

"I don't understand how they can plan a detailed attack and then say they
didn't know what they were doing," he said. "If this kid does that, I have the
same problem with it."

Former state prosecutor Michael Ramsdell said several other states have "guilty
but insane" laws, but he doesn't believe New Hampshire needs one.

"I would be hard-pressed to come up with a reason why that's necessary," he
said.

"New Hampshire is not a jurisdiction where there are a large number of insanity
pleas, and it's certainly not a place where there are a lot of successful
insanity defenses," he said.

Ramsdell also questioned whether it would be legal to force someone convicted
under such a law to serve time in prison.

"It certainly sounds to me like that would be ripe for a constitutional
challenge," he said.

The bill also faces opposition from the New Hampshire chapter of the National
Alliance for the Mentally Ill. The prison provision essentially would punish
someone twice for the same incident, said Mike Cohen, the group's director.

"This bill feels very stigmatizing," Cohen said. "It says people with mental
illnesses are violent and are criminals, and most don't fall into that category"

Cohen instead supports other legislative efforts to create a mental health
court system.

Such systems bring together hospitals, police, family members and other courts
to provide an alternative to jail for mentally ill people charged with minor
crimes. The Legislature created a committee to study the idea last summer; the
panel hasn't issued its recommendations yet.

Germans Salute US NAVY

This is an e-mail from an Ensign stationed aboard the USS WINSTON CHURCHILL.

Dear Dad,

Well, we are still out at sea, with little direction as to what our next
priority is. The remainder of our port visits, which were to be centered around
max liberty and goodwill to the United Kingdom, have all but been cancelled. We
have spent every day since the attacks going back and forth within imaginary
boxes drawn in the ocean, standing high-security watches, and trying to make
the best of our time. It hasn't been that fun I must confess, and to be even
more honest, a lot of people are frustrated at the fact that they either can't
be home, or we don't have more direction right now. We have seen the articles
and the photographs, and they are sickening. Being isolated as we are, I don't
think we appreciate the full scope of what is happening back home, but we are
definitely feeling the effects.

About two hours ago the junior officers were called to the bridge to conduct
Shiphandling drills. We were about to do a man overboard when we got a call
from the LUTJENS(D185), a German warship that was moored ahead of us on the
pier in Plymouth, England. While in port, the WINSTON S CHURCHILL and the
LUTJENS got together for a sports day/cookout on our fantail, and we made some
pretty good friends. Now at sea they called over on bridge-to-bridge,
requesting to pass us close up on our port side, to say good-bye. We prepared
to render them honors on the bridgewing, and the Captain told the crew to come
topside to wish them farewell.

As they were making their approach, our Conning Officer announced through her
binoculars that they were flying an American flag. As they came even closer, we
saw that it was flying at half-mast. The bridgewing was crowded with people as
the Boatswain's Mate blew two whistles- Attention to Port- the ship came up
alongside and we saw that the entire crew of the German ship were manning the
rails, in their dress blues. They had made up a sign that was displayed on the
side that read "We Stand By You." Needless to say there was not a dry eye on
the bridge as they stayed alongside us for a few minutes and we cut our
salutes.

It was probably the most powerful thing I have seen in my entire life and more
than a few of us fought to retain our composure. It was a beautiful day outside
today. We are no longer at liberty to divulge over unsecure e-mail our
location, but we could not have asked for a finer day at sea. The German Navy
did an incredible thing for this crew, and it has truly been the highest point
in the days since the attacks. It's amazing to think that only a half-century
ago things were quite different, and to see the unity that is being
demonstrated throughout Europe and the world makes us all feel proud to be out
here doing our job.

After the ship pulled away and we prepared to begin our man overboard drills
the Officer of the Deck turned to me and said "I'm staying Navy."

I'll write you when I know more about when I'll be home, but for now, this is
probably the best news that I could send you.

Love you guys.

Who we are- The U.S. Coast Guard

The U.S. Coast Guard is a military, multi-mission, maritime service. Operating
within the Department of Transportation during peacetime, the Service falls
under the direction of the Secretary of the Navy upon declaration of war or
when the President directs. The Coast Guard is a unique federal agency. In
addition to its non-redundant yet compelling national defense role as one of
the five U.S. Armed Services, the Coast Guard is charged with a broad scope of
regulatory, law-enforcement, humanitarian, and emergency-response duties. The
Coast Guard operates in a complex and dangerous maritime environment
characterized by rapidly changing security threats at home and abroad.

The USCG Department of Transportation Page: http://www.dot.gov/affairs/cgind.htm

The United States Coast Guard homepage: http://www.uscg.mil/

WOW, I knew the USCG Served a dual pupose, but never knew that they actually
served under two different departments! I knew they enforced maritime law but I
had no idea that they were actually part of the Department of Transportation
during peacetime!

They risk their lives in times of peace to save and rescue those in trouble and
then in times of war can be called upon by our President to serve under the
Department of Defense.

I would like to say to those that serve or have ever served in our Coast Guard,
"Thank You for Your Service to Our Country"!

The Humane Society, Not Such A Great Society!

After several stories on the Humane Society over the past years, the Humane
Society of the United States replied with a letter to me. Some have questioned
why I have targeted the Humane Society. Well the fact that what the HSUS claims
is not what they really portray on their website or in their fundraising
programs, it bothers me that people are donating to an organizaton that may not
be what they expect!

In the HSUS's letter to me requesting that I "cease publishing false and
damaging communications regarding the HSUS", they made several statements. They
stated that "The HSUS is an animal protection organization not an animal rights
organization", that "We are not a vegetarian organization; in fact, we promote
non-factory farms that use humane animal husbandry practices.", and that "The
HSUS is not an anti-vivisectionist organization. (anti-animal testing, I had to
look it up!) We promote humane treatment of animals used in research as well as
the use of alternatives to animal testing where appropriate".

1st The HSUS is an animal protection organization not an animal rights
organization.

Well by the list of employees who came from extreme animal rights groups, I
doubt they left their beliefs and motives behind. Also the amount of links on
the HSUS website that leads to sites promoting animals rights!

2nd We are not a vegetarian organization; in fact, we promote non-factory farms
that use humane animal husbandry practices.

Well again I showed several direct links from the HSUS website to sites that
promote Veganism and Vegetarianism.

Also if you remember the lawsuits against Oprah for comments about hamburger,
the guy on the show and involved in the lawsuit along with Oprah was Howard
Lyman. Howard Lyman made his money as a cattle rancher and then found a "New"
way and began a Vegan Lifestyle!

He became a Director of the Eating With Conscience Campaign of the Humane
Society of the United States. His job is to "travel around talking to people"
trying to convince them to "use zero percent animal products."

"Zero Percent animal products", doesn't sound like they "Promote non-factory
farms" at all!

3rd The HSUS is not an anti-vivisectionist organization. (anti-animal testing,
I had to look it up!) We promote humane treatment of animals used in research
as well as the use of alternatives to animal testing where appropriate

Talk about being "grossly inaccurate and misleading"!

HSUS SHOWS ITS STRIPES
November 16, 1998

The Laboratory Animals section of the Humane Society of the United States has
become more active in criticizing research in the media recently, clearly
inaugurating the public relations stage of its campaign to end all pain and
distress in laboratory animals by the year 2020.

From the Americans for Medical Progress news page:

Seems that not only are these HSUS employees great at fundraising and
collecting decent paychecks, but they are pretty good at lying too! Not Good
enough though!

When I sent this story out originally I received several letters from people
involved in Animal Welfare and they agreed that the HSUS is not what they
pretend to be!

Several letters came from people who run shelters, and are always battling the
HSUS for donations. The big national name gets the funds even though these
other groups run "NO KILL" Shelters!

Not only do these people NOT GET PAID, but many times they use their own money
to keep animals alive!

Where would you rather see the money go?

Ideas on Terrorism:

"To all my fellow Americans ... I say, one thing we owe those who have
sacrificed is the duty to purge ourselves of the dark forces which gave rise to
this evil. They are forces that threaten our common peace, our freedom, our way
of life."

This Administration will aggressively track down and punish terrorists
worldwide and to fight international crime to the fullest extent of the law.

The aim, he said to applause, is "to help to agree on a package that will
provide these additional protections against terrorism and any other measures
we need to take to increase the protection of the American people."

"This is a challenge we can and will meet. It may well be the most significant
security challenge of the 21st century to the people of the United States and
to civilized people everywhere."

America will not be intimidated by "cowardly" acts of violence.

"As Americans, we can and must join together to defeat terrorism wherever it
strikes and whoever practices it,"

Nations that "sponsor and permit" terrorist acts "must face strong sanctions"
-- specifically Iraq, Iran, Libya and Sudan.

"We all have to say, 'We cannot live with this. It is wrong,'"

Isn't it amazing how much we can learn from History! These statements were not
made today or even this year!

Anyone interested in knowing where these statements came from?

USS Cole Floats A Day Ahead of Schedule

The USS Cole is now floating a day ahead of schedule. The shipyard in
Pascagoula Mississippi worked diligently to get the USS Cole back on the water.
Congratulations to all for their valiant effort. The USS Cole had been the
victim of a terrorist attack while refueling in Yemen last October.

With the events of late, this reminds me of another war waged against terrorism
by American soldiers. This is a story that I sent out last year titled "Lest We
Forget-Bravery Of Our Servicemen and Women":

I received this in an e-mail from my local NH State Representative; it was
supposedly from a Naval Serviceman:

"It wasn't until a few days ago though, that we started doing something that I
feel may be the first thing I've seen in my short Naval career that has truly
made a difference. Right now we're supporting the USS COLE and her crew in
Aden. When the attack occurred we were a day away. Just by luck we happened to
be on our way out of the Gulf and headed towards the Suez and could get here in
a relatively short amount of time. I know what you all have seen on CNN,
because we have seen it too. I just want you all to know that what you see
doesn't even scratch the surface. I'm not going to get into it for obvious
reasons.

But I will tell you that right now there are 250+ sailors just a few miles away
living in hell on Earth. I'm sitting in a nice air-conditioned stateroom,
they're sleeping out on the decks at night. You can't even imagine the
conditions they're living in, and yet they are still fighting 24 hours a day to
save their ship and free the bodies of those still trapped and send them home.

As bad as it is, they're doing an incredible job. The very fact that these
people are still functioning is beyond my comprehension. Whatever you imagine
as the worst, multiply it by ten and you might get there. Today I was tasked to
photo rig the ship and surrounding area. It looked so much worse than I had
imagined, unbelievable really, with debris and disarray everywhere, the ship
listing, the hole in her side. I wish I had the power to relay to you all what
I have seen, but words just won't do it. I do want to tell you the first thing
that jumped out at me - the Stars and Stripes flying. I can't tell you how that
made me feel...even in this God forsaken hell hole our flag was more beautiful
than words can describe.

Then I started to notice the mass of activity going on below, scores of people
working non-stop in 90 plus degree weather to save this ship. They're doing it
with almost no electrical power and they're sleeping (when they can sleep)
outside on the decks because they can't stand the smell or the heat or the
darkness inside. They only want to eat what we bring them because they're all
scared of eating something brought by the local vendors.

Even with all that, the USS COLE and her crew is sending a message guys, and
it's that even acts of cowardice and hate can do nothing to the spirit and
pride of the United States. I have never been so proud of what I do, or of the
men and women that I serve with as I was today. There are sixteen confirmed
dead sailors who put it on the line for all of us, and some of them are still
trapped here.

Please take a minute to pray for their families and say a word of thanks for
their sacrifice - one made so that we can live the lives that we do. All of you
that serve with me, thank you. All of you that have loved ones that serve,
Thank You."

Now whether this is a real e-mail or not, the words do speak the truth. I have
seen General Norman Schwartzkopf on CNN talking about the brave and valiant
effort that the crew of the USS Cole had put forth to recover the bodies of
their fallen comrades and keep their ship afloat.

The US does a lot to be hated for around the world, but I don't like it when we
attack citizens of other countries for the actions of their governments, and I
don't like acts of terrorism against our servicemen who are just doing their
jobs.

While the rest of the Navy is still in the comfort of their posts, the crew of
the USS Cole continues to live in a disaster area, with many of their systems
down, and having to sleep above deck. The crew continues the battle to keep
their ship, their pride and joy, and ours too, afloat. To let this ship sink
and leave the bodies of trapped servicemen and women to the sea would just be
another victory for the suicidal maniacs that perpetrated this horrendous crime
against our country.

In a time of peace our servicemen and women are fighting a major war against
terrorism by standing up for their country and doing whatever it takes to keep
the honor and respect of their ship, and their country, intact.

Some people feel that the military is a way for people to avoid the hustle and
bustle of the public sector, but they don't get paid very well. They don't
always get the benefits that they deserve, and last and absolutely not the
least is the fact that even during peace time, when you serve our country, your
life is on the line. Lest we forget, these honorable men and women put their
lives on the line for the rest of us. Like the line spoken by Jack Nicolson in
the movie A Few Good Men, "We (servicemen) walk the line to protect your
freedom while you sit at home and eat your Wheaties."

When our boys and girls go off to serve our country, we need to remember that
they are putting their lives on the line for us, and we should remember and
respect them more often then once a year on Veterans Day.

I would like to thank all of those that are serving or have ever served our
country. It may not seem that way sometimes, but there are a lot of us who do
appreciate what you do.

United We Stand, Divided We Fall.

We'll Go Forward From This Moment
By Leonard Pitts Jr.
Syndicated columnist / Miami Herald
http://www.miami.com/herald/content/features/columnists/pitts/digdocs/000565.htm

They pay me to tease shades of meaning from social and cultural issues, to
provide words that help make sense of that which troubles the American
soul. But in this moment of airless shock when hot tears sting
disbelieving eyes, the only thing I can find to say, the only words that
seem to fit, must be addressed to the unknown author of this suffering.

You monster. You beast. You unspeakable bastard.
What lesson did you hope to teach us by your coward's attack on our World
Trade Center, our Pentagon, us? What was it you hoped we would learn?
Whatever it was, please know that you failed.

Did you want us to respect your cause? You just damned your cause.
Did you want to make us fear? You just steeled our resolve.
Did you want to tear us apart? You just brought us together.
Let me tell you about my people. We are a vast and quarrelsome family, a
family rent by racial, cultural, political and class division, but a
family nonetheless. We're frivolous, yes, capable of expending tremendous
emotional energy on pop cultural minutiae, a singer's revealing
dress, a ball team's misfortune, a cartoon mouse.

We're wealthy, too, spoiled by the ready availability of trinkets and
material goods, and maybe because of that, we walk through life with a
certain sense of blithe entitlement. We are fundamentally decent, though -
peace-loving and compassionate. We struggle to know the right thing and to
do it. And we are, the overwhelming majority of us, people of faith,
believers in a just and loving God.

Some people - you, perhaps - think that any or all of this makes us weak.
You're mistaken. We are not weak. Indeed, we are strong in ways that
cannot be measured by arsenals.

Yes, we're in pain now. We are in mourning and we are in shock. We're
still grappling with the unreality of the awful thing you did, still
working to make ourselves understand that this isn't a special effect from
some Hollywood blockbuster, isn't the plot development from a Tom Clancy
novel.

Both in terms of the awful scope of its ambition and the probable final
death toll, your attacks are likely to go down as the worst acts of
terrorism in the history of the United States and, indeed, the history of
the world. You've bloodied us as we have never been bloodied before.

But there's a gulf of difference between making us bloody and making us
fall. This is the lesson Japan was taught to its bitter sorrow the last
time anyone hit us this hard, the last time anyone brought us such abrupt
and monumental pain. When roused, we are righteous in our outrage, terrible
in our force. When provoked by this level of barbarism, we will bear any
suffering, pay any cost, go to any length, in the pursuit of justice.

I tell you this without fear of contradiction. I know my people, as you, I
think, do not. What I know reassures me. It also causes me to tremble with
dread of the future.

In days to come, there will be recrimination and accusation, fingers
pointing to determine whose failure allowed this to happen and what can be
done to prevent it from happening again. There will be heightened
security, misguided talk of revoking basic freedoms. We'll go forward from
this moment sobered, chastened, sad. But determined, too. Unimaginably
determined.

You see, there is steel beneath this velvet. That aspect of our character
is seldom understood by people who don't know us well. On this day, the
family's bickering is put on hold. As Americans we will weep, as Americans
we will mourn, and as Americans, we will rise in defense of all that we
cherish.

Still, I keep wondering what it was you hoped to teach us. It occurs to me
that maybe you just wanted us to know the depths of your hatred.

If that's the case, consider the message received. And take this message
in exchange: You don't know my people. You don't know what we're about.
You don't know what you just started.
But you're about to learn.

Thanks Dick A. for sending this!

I couldn't find it on The Seattle Times website so I used the Miami Herald.

And Let's Not Forget the Heroes!

Heroic effort' by Flight 93 passengers may have spared other lives

By MARTHA RAFFAELE

Associated Press Writer

SHANKSVILLE, Pa. (AP) - Just before United Airlines Flight 93 crashed, a
passenger reportedly telephoned his wife, told her the plane had been hijacked
and said he and some others were going to "do something about it."

Foster's Daily Democrat: Heroic Effort
http://www.fosters.com/news2001c/september/12/na0912dd.htm

This plane has now been suspected of heading towards the Whitehouse or air
force one! These people died to save the lives of others and should go down in
history as HEROES!

These are a few of the Dead heroes, others include the Firemen and police who
lost their lives in the rescue attempt.

Also the living HEROES who are still risking their lives in the search for
survivors, like the Police, Firemen, Doctors, Paramedics, and volunteers
working side by side with Police and Firemen!

I had said to several people that if hijackers used knives on my plane, at some
point when death was inevitable, I would take them or at least try, before they
took me! Even if we still crashed at least I might have gotten one of them
before I went.

I have been in Life or Death situations and have managed to make it. The
actions of these people on this plane give me hope that I may have acted with
as much bravery as they did. I would rather die fighting then cowering in my
seat!

Most hijackings end without incident and most on the planes may have had no
idea until the last moment. Something on this flight gave these people the
strength to fight and chose their way to die!

THESE PEOPLE SHOULD GO DOWN IN HISTORY AS HEROES, our Whitehouse was destroyed
once in History and these people may have saved us from reliving that event!

Sanctions on Iraq Must be Maintained

As printed in The Sunday Eagle-Tribune (Sunday edition of the Lawrence Eagle-Tribune) on September 2nd, 2001:

In reply to a Letter to the Editor in the Eagle-Tribune titled "We Must End Sanctions Against Iraq" the writer, Mary Kate Small, states that "reflecting upon the terrible blows the United States dealt to Japan in August 1945, is always hard, but having to put up with our government's continued arrogance in the present age is an additional frustration". Arrogance? To put an end to World War II, arrogance? Yes, we would have won the war eventually, but at what cost? How many more young American men would have had to die?

Ms. Small claims that the U.S. has illegally declared a "No Fly Zone" in Iraq, that is in fact their own air space. Well Ms. Small, they lost the right to "their own air space" when they attacked their neighbors and attempted to destroy the infrastructure of their neighboring country. With Iraq's continued attacks on United States' planes, this only shows that they have not learned their lesson and that the sanctions should continue. If you believe that lifting the sanctions would help the Iraqi people you are mistaken. Lifting the sanctions would only help Saddam Hussein.

Then Ms. Small states that "If we stopped theorizing and started putting the actual nonviolent teachings of Christ into practice, what a wonderful world it would be". Obviously Ms. Small has no idea that the majority of the world doesn't even believe in Christ. Does she plan on forcing her beliefs on the rest of the world to attain this "World Peace"?

Ms. Small why do you believe that your views of Christ are the truth? Do you realize that Christianity only makes up 33 percent of the world's largest religions? There is only one word to describe your idea to attain world peace, and that is Arrogance.

Stores Scanning Licenses for Beer & Cigarettes

My wife refused to give the store her license but they still sold her the beer. When she told me what happened, I e-mailed my State rep to find out what the heck was going on!

Scanning licenses so they know when and where people buy beer!

It may be under the Guise of checking the age, but scanning the magnetic strip doesn't change the date of birth on the license. Also it has been reported that Criminal Records are showing up on these scans! Your whole driving record available to some clerk at a store!

I guess I was the first to bring it up, (HA, I write a column and I blew this one big time!) but then it happened to Mr. Jim Knight of Exeter and He brought it to the newspaper. Sometime after that a NH State Legislator had it happen and He noticed the records coming up.

Now there is an Emergency Driver Privacy bill being proposed in the NH Legislature. It is being brought to the House Rules committee on September 12th to get permission to add a bill after the deadline.

Friends Don't Care

by Michael Z. Williamson
daggers@indy.net
July 4, 2001

I can be your best friend.

Not because I care, but because I don't.

I don't care what church, if any, you go to. I don't care if you are Church of God, Church of Christ, Church of God in Christ, Church of Christ reformed, Church of Christ Scientist, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Byzantine Catholic, Roman Catholic, Jewish Congregationalist, Hindu, Shinto, Islamic, Buddhist, Greek Orthodox, Native American, Irish Druidic, Scandinavian Druidhe, Pagan, Wiccan…Hell, I don't care if you worship the Great Pumpkin. Or no deity at all. How you spend your Sundays, Saturdays, Fridays, Tuesday evenings, full Moons, or eclipses is up to you.

I don't care if you have sex with men, women, both, or neither. If it's in private, and they are freely consenting adults, it's your business. I may not like it myself, but I don't care about you.

I don't care what brand of beer you drink or not, if you drink wine or not, liquor or not. I don't care if you brew your own, grow your own or roll your own. I don't care if you smoke dope, rope, or nightshade. It's your body, poison it any way you wish. Just keep the residue in your own home, okay?

Vegetarian? Okay. Vegan? Great. Rare steak only, or raw rattlesnake? Cool. Squid with the tentacles still wiggling? Suits me just fine.

Are you skinny? Fat? Ugly? Overdressed? Underdressed? Naked? Hey, it's your life, do what you wish. If I don't like it, I won't watch.

I am a politician's worst nightmare. I can't be made to hate, I can't be panicked by the strange, and I'll react ungraciously to attempts to inspire me so. I vote on issues, not on smokescreens, and no Orwellian pigs in suits need apply.

I'm not part of a vast conspiracy to put Candidate X into office--Candidate X is an idiot, and so is Candidate Y. I voted for the Manchurian Candidate myself, because I don't care. I don't belong to the Hate Group of the Month Club on the Evening news, because I don't care. How can you possibly think I have anything in common with them?

Oh, right. I own guns. So do they. I'll bet a bunch of them read Doctor Seuss growing up, too, as did I. I don't see how that's relevant, either.

So that's it. Power scares you. And by not being a pawn, by being able to think, and by daring to think differently from you, I scare you. Well, relax, because I don't care.

Read the papers of the country, or for that matter, the world. You'll find me right there defending the unpopular in letters to the editor, in marches, in protests and sit-ins. I don't care so damned much that I'll go far out of my way to prove it. When your oppressors refuse to believe I don't care, I'm willing to reinforce the point…WITH force.

The only actions of yours I care about are those that actually affect me. Try to rape my wife, and you die. Try to assault me, and you die. Touch my children…Well, then you'll die slowly, as a lesson to others.

Try to take my guns away, or send someone else to do so…well, then I care. Keep in mind--they protect you, too. The people who DO care about silly details of your life DO have guns, whether you call them extremists, fanatics, cults, militias, or Federal Agents. It's easy to hate a name, isn't it? I'd hate the names, too, if it would make any difference, but it doesn't. Hateful people hide everywhere, and I don't care. Only when they ACT on that hate do I become aroused. By acting on hate, they interfere with my ability not to care. And that just ruins my whole day. Sometimes it takes the threat of force to prove I don't care. That's why I have the guns.

Why would you want to take my guns away, knowing I don't care? I'm no threat. I'm your best friend. I don't even care if THEY have guns. I don't even care if YOU have a gun. I care even less if you don't like ME having a gun.

So do me a favor and don't come to my door asking me to turn over my tools of reason.

Because I don't care who interferes with my right to not care.

And neither do my guns.

Evidence links military training with societal violence

According to David Diamond's commentary "Evidence links military training with societal violence" ( http://www.fosters.com/comment/comment/comment01/jun/cc0630a_01.htm ), I guess we should just shut down the military altogether. Let's just lie down and let the Communists and the Fascists take over our country.

Statistics can be used to support any side of an argument. The percentage of violence in that age group and the percentage that had ROTC training is probably the same percentage. I bet the same percentage of violent offenders were boy scouts and choir boys.

Mr. Diamond cited articles that document 20 murders by JROTC and ROTC cadets since 1990. That's less then two murders a year by ROTC cadets and how many murders are committed every year? That's quite a small percentage. I would say that there are more murders committed by ex-boy scouts and choir boys then ROTC or JROTC cadets.

Mr. Diamond stated that "It is well known that there is a higher incidence of domestic violence in military families than in the population in general. One study found that a third of military spouses experience abuse, compared with 10 to 20 percent in a national sample."

Well let's see one third of military spouses experience abuse and 10 to 20 percent in the general public. Well these are my stats so I'll use the 20%. Most stats have a margin of error around 5% so the 20% could actually be 25% in the general public and the percentage of military spousal abuse could actually be 5% lower ending up at 28%.

How do you like that, with the margin of error the percentage of spousal abuse in the military could be almost the same as in the general public.

Also I wonder if by chance abuse in the military gets reported more then it does in the general public? We all know that a lot of abuse goes unreported, and in the regimented lifestyle of the military it is possible that abuse may actually get reported more.

The Conclusion from my stats shows the possibility that military service may actually lower spousal abuse. This tells me that JROTC and ROTC in schools may give students the discipline and self-respect to avoid violence in certain situations. Discipline and self-respect are not usually qualities that you will see in violent offenders.

Streisand, the Epitome of Liberalism!

Barbara Streisand like her counterpart, Rosie, my Bodyguards are packing, O'Donnell, has taken Liberalism to new heights. Streisand has been suggesting conserving energy to all her fans and the people of California. The only problem is that according to one of her spokespeople ""She never meant that it necessarily applied to her."

She flies her jets, rides in her SUV's, and keeps her several homes cool as can be even when she's not there while suggesting to Californians to keep their homes at 78 degrees when they are home and 85 degrees when they are not.

Streisand, O'Donnell, and the Clinton's, "Live like I tell you to, not like I do!"

HSUS, I am Not Alone in My Disdain for THEM!

According to an article in the Spokesman-Review (Spokane, WA), May 17, 2001, The "HSUS Always Seems to Have Another Angle". This article repeats my comments that the Humane Society of the United States "is not the same critter as the Humane Society that does the thankless work of running local animal shelters."

This article asks this question about the HSUS, "What was the highest single line item expenditure?"

And the Answer is.................. FUNDRAISING! 16 Million dollars worth!

Also the article states that the HSUS's tax forms show that "less than one percent of its 1999 income was given to wildlife, animal habitat and sheltering in the form of grants and allocations."

This groups does not want to save animals, help pets, or anything else except keep it's employees working. Many of the top employees in this organization make well over $100,000 a year!

In the process of making tons of money for themselves, they spend a lot of money to limit pet ownership, stop hunting, stop fishing, and take over our state Fish and Wildlife organizations!

NH Bill Seeks the Truth

As printed in the Exeter Newsletter on Friday May 25th, 2001:

New Hampshire House Bill number 101, requiring registered lobbyists to sign a statement concerning false statements or misrepresentation of material facts, only seeks the truth. Now the fact that this bill passed the House says that there must be something to it. I had always assumed that anyone that testified before the legislature would be sworn in. This is not the case.

It seems that this is a pretty straightforward bill that is with-in reason to expect from lobbyists. Anyone that would be against this bill must not expect or want the truth when dealing with lobbyists. The NH Senate Internal Affairs Committee voted unanimously to list the bill as Ought to Pass. When it went to the floor of the NH Senate on April 19th, Senator Sylvia Larsen had the bill laid on the table.

New Hampshire Representative Marshal "Lee" Quandt, who is one of the sponsors of the bill, said that Senator Kathrine Wheeler stated to him that "It is a bad bill". Basically the entire bill states that lobbyists will sign a sworn statement to not "knowingly make any false statement or material misrepresentation" to any legislative body. How could that be bad? Unless you need lobbyists to mis-lead our legislature to achieve your agenda.

Ex-Senator and gubernatorial candidate Mary Brown, who is now a lobbyist for the National Wildlife Federation, told Representative Quandt that "When all legislators agree to start telling the truth, I'll sign onto the lying lobbyist bill," Well Ms. Brown, having been a NH State Senator you should know that legislators are sworn in and take an oath of office before serving their term. If you forgot this while you were Senator then you must not have been a very good one. Your reply to Representative Quandt is a childish one. Similar to a child saying, "Well none of the other kids have to. Why should I?"

With lobbyists like you, Ms. Brown, I want the sworn oath signed in ink.

I read on an Internet Bulletin Board that Senator Wheeler stated that "Perjury is a felony charge. Proving perjury would require verbatim transcripts of testimony, which do not exist in the House", that "the wording of the bill would open the door to lots of lawsuits, because anyone who disagreed with a lobbyist could accuse that person of perjury", and "If lobbyists don't tell the truth, they quickly lose their effectiveness", and also "if a law in unenforceable or will create unnecessary lawsuits, then why would we want to create it?"

I asked Senator Wheeler in an e-mail that if these were Her comments, where in the NH Criminal Code, under perjury, does it state that the perjured statements must be in a transcript? Also since unsworn falsification in writing is already a misdemeanor, then why aren't there any lawsuits against lobbyists now? Why would taking a sworn oath cause lawsuits when there aren't any now? If you believe that a lying lobbyist would lose their effectiveness, then why wouldn't every lobbyist be willing to swear an oath?

As for a law being "unenforceable", well Sen. Wheeler, what about HB545 The Railroad Trespassing Act?

According to your bill, A person would be guilty of a class A misdemeanor for trespassing on railroad property if that person, without the railroad carrier's consent, except to cross the property at a public highway or other authorized crossing. Well here is an unenforceable law for you.

After sending these questions to Senators Wheeler, Larsen, and Hollingworth, I received one reply from Senator Wheeler and it stated that "Obviously you have my thoughts and have already answered them to your, if not my, satisfaction". So these were Her comments but She obviously is not willing to discuss them with a citizen of NH that happens to disagree with her. Senator Beverly Hollingworth, who supposedly represents me, could not even take the time to respond.

Taking an oath doesn't prevent lying but at least it raises the level of punishment for lying. If the legislators have to take an oath then at the very least these lobbyists should be required to do the same. Let's raise the bar a bit and make these lobbyists a little more liable for what they say.

Can Senator Larsen's, Senator Wheeler's, and Senator Hollingworth's friends, the lobbyists, rise to this level or is this asking too much of them?

Please ask Senator Larsen, Senator Wheeler, and any other Senator that voted to set the bill aside, why they have a problem with requiring lobbyists to tell the truth? Also ask them to send this bill to the floor of the NH Senate for a vote so that we may see where our Senators really stand on the lying lobbyist bill.
